Your box has no graphics Leyla can use (AMD Ryzen Synology models and most ARM boxes don’t). Turn it back off; Leyla converts on the processor instead.

No. Leyla needs a 64-bit machine running a 64-bit system. A Pi 4 or 5 with the 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS works.

Under Admin, Server, Backups, choose a folder and a schedule. Each backup holds the database, your plugins and a checksum for every file.

Leyla sees only the folders you gave it when you installed it, and only if the account it runs as can read them. Add the missing folder the way your box’s guide shows, then pick it in Admin, Library.

Details and posters come from plugins. If you skipped “Where should details come from?”, titles are named from their files: install the TMDB and TVmaze plugins under Admin, Server, Plugins. The server also needs to reach the internet. A single title that’s wrong can be fixed from its own page.

However you already do is usually fine. What Leyla recognises fastest: a film as Name (Year), and episodes with S01E02 in the name, in a folder per show.

Yes. Titles appear first, then become playable, then get their posters; a film can play the moment it’s playable.

The server answers only at home until you choose a way out: under Admin, Server, Remote access, pick your own proxy or tunnel, a forwarded port, or a VPN, and give it the address people use. The same page has a test you can run from your phone on mobile data.

Yes, per person: under Account, Playback, choose whether intros, recaps and credits are skipped always, never, or with a button, and how long the next-episode countdown runs.

The screen is probably being sent a converted film. On a box without hardware transcoding, a 4K film that has to be converted can be more than the CPU manages; a screen that plays the file as it is never has that problem. How a film reaches a screen explains what Leyla decides and why.

A new Leyla starts a five-day trial on its own. Link it to your email during setup, or later under Admin, Licence, and it becomes 60 days. No card, and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.

Leyla stops adding new files it scans until it has a plan. What’s already in your library stays where it is.
